KIDS FITNESS

MINI MOVES PROGRAM

Mini Moves is a physical activity program for children aged between 6-11 years focusing on fun and movement, the program provides a fun way for children to be physical active without fear of the negative aspects of sports.

Mini Moves sessions are pre-choreographed addressing all areas of fitness. Each session plan is delivered for a period of 2-3 weeks and then replaced by another exciting program. This means that during a typical 10 week school term, 3-5 Mini Moves programs are delivered. By repeating the session more than once, children will gain a sense of progression, control and mastery over the activities and skills involved. The Mini Moves programs follow the format below:

  • Warm up activities and ice breakers
  • Cardiovascular fitness and strength
  • Sport skills
  • Fun games
  • Balance and stretch
  • Food and nutrition

All of the above is based on fun. The nature of the activities is such that children do not realise it is exercise.  Once a term children participating receive a health handout to give to the family. This ensures that the concepts of Mini Moves go beyond the session to the home.
